COMMUNIST PARTY OF NORWAY is struggling for a communist society - a classless society without exploitation. This is our long-term goal.The first step in the direction of this goal is the anti-monopolist battle, where democratic forces seek to limit the power of the corporations, and to increase the power of the people.
The second stage is the introduction of socialism, i.e. that the people take control of the economic life (socialist planned economics).The third stage. Through qualitative improvements this socialist society will be made redundant by communism, where each gives according to ability and recieves according to need, and where all forms of human exploitation are abolished.
The story of the Communist Party of Norway can be summarized as follows:
- 75 years of struggle for the working class and socialism. All of the time revolutionary, anti-capitalist and anti-fascist.
- Legendary resistance during the war years, 1940 - 1945.
- Straight political course despite belonging to the most persecuted party in Norway (surveillance, registration, harrassment, anti-communism / McCarthy-ism, boycott, hets, portrayed as being ridiculous in the media). We NEVER let go of the idea of socialism.
- Have supported all peace movements after the second world war.
- Part of a international movement with more than 100 parties all around the globe (the class struggle is international).
- Built on a complete view of life and the world: Marxism and important contributions by other marxist thinkers, especially Engels and Lenin. CP of Norway is both a party of values and one of the class struggle.
- Works for unity amongst the leftist forces.
- Consequently opposing conformity towards the European Union, the EØS agreement and membership in the European Union.
Norway needs a serious communist party like this, that says NO to the social-democratic way (accepting capitalism as viable), but also shows distance from the extreme left, the secteric left and the opportunic left.
COMMUNIST PARTY OF NORWAY's role in Norwegian politics has been weakened due to harrasment and persecution by the right wing and the Norwegian surveillance agency. Now the party is rising again - with your help! You are welcome to join a community willing to struggle for a new, different and improved society!
